As the Marsh Hen Flies

Oh what beautiful expanses the Marsh hen sees as it flies high in the sky. These places of such beauty, vibrance, and importance. It is argued that salt marshes are the most important and productive ecosystems on earth. They protect property and coastlines from floods and storms and filter pollution from rivers and runoff. They are home to flocks and herds and swarms and schools and colonies. It is, however, the sacredness of the marshlands and its effect on our souls that we should consider as well.

Artist Bruce Chandler narrates Sidney Laniers “The Marshes of Glynn”. Take a bird’s eye flight above winding creeks and pristine bays and listen to the words of the greatest poem ever written about the marshland.
