Bird Brains

Flying, diving, swimming, hunting, feeding, preening and screeching, you can witness birds doing it all. Our feathered friends don’t seem to mind our presence along the shore, for them life goes on as usual. They are as diverse as you can imagine, from tiny plovers feeding upon small invertebrates to soaring ospreys and pelicans who dive for fish. Many bird species are transient, stopping by the marshes on their long migrations each year, while others can be found feeding and building their nests in one area year-round. These beautiful and often goofy creatures are fascinating to watch. Sometimes they’ll have you wondering what’s going on in their bird brains.
